Great store with an awesome selection, something for everyones budget. Good selection of vegan cheeses and meats. Also a great selection of organic meats for non-vegans. Love the freezer section as well. Employees are top notch and super friendly, and always very helpful.
Cool little local grocery that has grab and go meals and some great ingredients. Seems farm to table but I didn't ask. The People were nice and courteous throughout my experience. I had some chicken empanadas and spicy peanut tofu. Everything was great but a little on the pricier side.
There are so many things I love about fiddleheads, it would be impossible to fit them all into one review. Here are a couple of my stand out favorites: -the extensive bulk section! One of the things that turns me off about cooking is that simple meals somehow turn into $80 trips to stop and shop. Part of it is because even if you only need a tablespoon of something, you have to buy a whole container of it. Not so at fiddleheads! Oats, rice, coffee, herbs, spices, you name it- you can buy as little or as much as you need. -the fresh local food. From salmon and beef to fruits and veggies, fiddleheads has a wide range of locally and responsibly sourced fresh food. Some things are seasonal, some things are constants, but the more you shop there you will quickly get an idea of what you can find and when. -of course, the staff. Every single employee I've interacted with in my many years of coming here has been friendly, helpful, and respectful. You see a lot of the same faces year after year, and I get the impression that people truly enjoy working there. They recently just celebrated 16 years in business, which is no small feat for a co-op swimming in a sea of big chain grocery stores. For me, it's certainly not hard to see why.
Love going into Fiddleheads, everyone is always welcoming and I like that they foster an atmosphere where plenty of folks just hang out and chat. Prices are a little high for me sometimes, but I am happy to support paying employees a living wage and sourcing products ethically. The really good days are when CoolHaus vegan ice cream sandwiches are on sale :) Keep ordering the bright green loose yerba mate, please!

I was visiting New London and had no idea where to pick up some groceries. Luckily for me, I stumbled into Fiddleheads. There is quite a lot of selection here, but I was still able to find what I needed right away. Checkout was quick and easy - and I was able to pick up some beers too! Also kudos for offering discounts to students and servicemen.
Coming from California, I was super spoiled with quality, local grocery stores in virtually every city. As we drove the trek across the US, my confidence waned about the probability of finding equally as delightful and fabulous stores in my area. Just as I was preparing to resign myself to the plethora of Stop and Shops, I found Fiddleheads and it greatly brightened my optimism. Just walking in the store left me breathing a sigh of relief. This amazing store feels like home! Brightly lit shelves of organic produce, baskets of ruddy root veggies, and tubs of bulk were all easy to access and well labled. The flow of the store is well thought out, and staffed by knowledgeable people. I was impressed with their extensive gluten free selections, and their tea options were amazing. My go-to's here are the low calorie high fiber kelp or tofu noodles, their bold and freshly ground fair trade coffees, and the hormone/nitrate free deli meats and cheeses. I spend way too much time browsing their healthy body and beauty products, and am always excited at their local brew choices. I think it's also interesting to note that seasonally they do carry the Fiddleheads of their namesake, which must be judicially cooked to prevent potentially lethal food poisoning. I'm interested in trying them anyway based on their omega 3 and 6 levels, and will make sure to steam or boil for at least the recommended 12 minutes. The grocer is a co-op, meaning you can merely shop, or buy into the business to ensure it's sustainability for others to also enjoy. The cost can be paid in full or in monthly installments, to accommodate any budget to even $10/month. I will be continuing to take the bulk of my business here for its impact on the community despite the higher costs- which in the long run contribute to a healthier us and a healthier planet.
